Meet the Columnists

Aaron Adkisson

I’m planning on majoring in chemistry with a minor in history. I’ve lived on my family farm my entire life in the small town of Brodhead, KY. I’m a Christ follower who enjoys Ping-Pong, Survivor, and doing mission work. I like meeting new people and being funny. I’m super pumped about being a freshman at UC!

Cody Bishop

Hello, my name Daniel Cody Bishop; I grew up in London, KY. My intended majors include Education and History with the University of the Cumberlands. I think the best way to go about making this world a better place is through learning. Hopefully I can learn and share and my ideas and do just a little something to further that goal with this blog. Thanks for your attention!

Marissa Hoffpauir

Hometown: Thompson’s Station, TN

Major: Missions and English and minor in Spanish

About Me: My calling is to be a career missionary, and I’m so excited to prepare for that at UC! I love working with kids, whether it’s teaching Sunday School or VBS, babysitting, or playing with my 3-year-old brother. Also, I might have been born in the wrong decade because I love going to antique malls, listening to ‘50s music, and watching old movies (especially ones with Audrey Hepburn or Bing Crosby).

Laurel Hopf

As a nature loving, softball-playing photographer, I try to live life from every possible angle. I was born and raised in Centerville, Ohio with one older and two younger sisters, and our lives have taken me on expeditions all over the country, as well as overseas. But one thing is for sure: there are more adventures yet to come.

Sadie Martinez

Hometown: Hartford, CT

Major: “Exploring my options”

My name is Sadie Martinez. If I could go back to 1995, the year I was born, I would have spelled my name Say-D. I am a daughter, a sister, and an avid golfer. Most of my thoughts revolve around golf and how I can make myself a better person each and every day.
